In a significant recent agreement, the Bangladesh Navy is set to receive advanced weapons from Turkey’s renowned arms manufacturer CANiK. This includes the CANiK M2 QCB 12.7x99 mm heavy machine gun and the VENOM LR — a low-recoil 30x113 mm caliber cannon developed by UNIROBOTICS, specifically designed for counter-drone operations (C-UAS).
Through this deal, nearly 40% of the Navy’s existing M2-type heavy machine guns will be upgraded to CANiK’s advanced version. These weapons are internationally recognized not only for their powerful firepower but also for their adaptability across various platforms and reliable field performance.
This new addition to the Bangladesh Navy marks a major step forward in military modernization and is expected to play a vital role in addressing future defense challenges.
