A new shipment of VT-5 light tanks is being prepared in China for the Bangladesh Army. The pre-shipment movement of these tanks—carrying the Bangladeshi flag—has already been spotted on Chinese roads, indicating that the delivery is imminent.

Currently, one full regiment (44 units) of VT-5 tanks is already in service with the Bangladesh Army. The addition of this new regiment will further enhance the Army’s capabilities, particularly in terms of rapid deployment and modern combat readiness in hilly and challenging terrains.

The VT-5 is a modern and powerful light tank, praised for its advanced fire control system, a potent 105mm cannon, and a well-protected design. As part of the Bangladesh Army’s ongoing modernization efforts, this new batch of VT-5 tanks marks a significant milestone.
